Mabel is BACK, and let me tell you ‘Let Them Know’ is her best one yet. Song of the summer? Absolutely.

Okay, I’m gonna be scrambling around here for words to sum up just how good this track is, bear with me.

So, Mabel is a boss, we know that, and this one is an MNEK co-write so even before pressing play you know it’s gonna be a banger… but even I wasn’t prepared for just HOW MUCH of a banger it is. Remember the dizzy retro house vibe I loved in Julia Michaels’ ‘Lie Like This’ last autumn? Well, this one is presenting a similar kind of sound, and with the subtle nods to noughties R’n’B that already characterise Mabel’s artistry, the style seems to fit her like a glove. Her vocal delivery is full of personality, and there are some iconic lyrics in there – ‘body shape Coca Cola / sayin’ so like I’m Doja‘ – that are just begging to be chanted back by a whole room of people. It’s that rising melody as she sings ‘let them know‘ for me though, the intervals are kooky and unexpected and I really vibe with it a lot okay.
