01 JUNE 2021: BAARD – Thinking

This song is almost a year old, but I’ve just discovered it and it’s utterly enchanting.

Up-and-coming Norwegian artist Baard has created one of the most sensitive and heartwarming pop ballads I’ve heard in a while here, with ‘Thinking’. The perspective of someone who’s nervous yet clearly head-over-heels for their prospective partner has been explored time and time again, but this one feels so genuine – plus, the lyrics are full of vivid details which emphasise the relatability of the whole thing. It’s co-written by the incredible Ina Wroldsen, so of course it’s no wonder I’m loving it, but something about Baard’s delivery really elevates it even further. He’s one to watch in future.
