Of everything Mahmood has released post-‘Soldi’, this is the most ‘Soldi’-esque, and I for one am VERY much here for it.

Not for the first time, Mahmood has succeeded in creating a track which sounds like nobody else out there. ‘Klan’ opens with a haunting whistle, before diving into his signature lightning-fast lyrics which hook your attention immediately. Every part of this track is rhythmically-charged, especially that wonderfully relentless ‘la notte, la notte‘ refrain. Dropping this one at the same time as Eurovision was a smart move, giving himself maximum chance to recapture the attention of those international fans who fell for ‘Soldi’ two years ago. It’s the latest hype track for his second album which is coming in a couple of weeks, and it certainly does its job in building excitement for the collection.
