‘Mango’ is a slight change of direction in Grace Mitchell’s sound, but her flawless melodies are as strong as ever.

Over the last few years, Grace Mitchell has made a name for herself as a purveyor of forward-thinking, epic electronic pop – big personal favourites from her discography being 2017’s ‘Come Back For You’, and ‘Broken Over You’ from her debut EP back in 2014. ‘Mango’ is her first single release in four years, and it seems the time away has given her time to rethink what kind of music she wants to make. This one has much more of an emphasis on live instrumentation and the kind of storytelling lyrics which underpin the songwriting of some of America’s greats. She sounds so confident in this setting though, and the ‘I-oh-wah-ooo’ hook in the chorus is a real earworm.
