27 FEBRUARY 2021: GREGORY DILLON – Plastic Ferrari

I’ve just come across this absolute stunner of a track and the world needs to hear it.

Gregory Dillon released ‘Plastic Ferrari’ as a single midway through 2020, and it’s one of those which perfectly blends that cinematic 80s sound with razor sharp modern production. His voice is smooth and distinctive – he really doesn’t sound like anyone else in pop right now, which is really exciting. The real strength of this track is the way it builds though. During the sparse opening with echoing guitar notes accompanying the first verse, we can really appreciate the quirky, emotional lyrics and Dillon’s delivery. From there, I really wasn’t expecting it to explode into that hammering beat and glitzy bassline, and it just kept me guessing all the way to the end. One of the most instantly captivating songs I’ve heard in a while.
