Confidence? Tick. Sassy, horn-drenched production? Tick. The catchiest ‘ooh ah’ since Gina G? Tick. MishCatt has a huge hit on her hands here.

Costa Rica-born songstress MishCatt was a new name to me until this track – and boy is this one hell of an introduction. ‘Goofy’ is unlike anything else on the international pop scene right now. The production is an ingenious blend of dancehall and retro Ace of Base, and the resultant sound is a really unique kind of groove to get into. That ‘I get goofy‘ section absolutely explodes out of the track every time, and it’s the kind of hook that’s just BEGGING to be yelled enthusiastically in sync by huge crowds. Without a doubt my favourite song of the last few weeks, I just can’t stop repeating it.
